DBR delivered an all-risk enabling package of a former bus garage to facilitate The Grand Exchange residential development comprising 242 apartments as part of £770 million redevelopment of Bracknell centre.
Following the emergence of new technologies and the consolidation of Pilkington’s activities over the past decade, 104 acres of the Cowley Hill Works were purchased by BXB Cowley Hill Ltd. In support of their outline planning application for 1100 homes DBR designed the site remedial strategy gaining EHO and EA approval in late 2020.
The site had been disused for a number of years and collaboration between MCI, Halton Borough Council and Halton Housing Trust ensured that this important development could proceed. DBR provided a fixed price remediation and enabling scheme to deliver the site development platform and produce all required sub-soils from processed site won material.
At DB Remediation we provide bespoke, sustainable remedial solutions to facilitate brownfield redevelopment and integrate these with site engineering constraints to effectively deliver validated development platforms.
Our service integrates consultancy led remedial design with in-house contracting capability to optimise demolition, enabling & remedial works through all-risk turnkey contracts.
With over 25 years experience in brownfield remediation we are one of the most experienced remediation and enabling specialists in the UK.
We pride ourselves on a high level of repeat business and developing a sense of shared purpose that enables the development team to achieve outstanding results.
Based on our technical expertise of contaminated land problems and practical site enabling work experience, we offer a free-of-charge, no-obligation, pre-acquisition appraisal for all brownfield schemes.
Our appraisals are supported by an in-house understanding of environmental and engineering risks enabling us to provide Guaranteed Maximum Remedial Priced solutions, thereby removing your risk of unforeseen contamination and unaccounted remediation abnormals.
Co-ordinated Material Management Planning helps maximise the re-use of site won materials during the construction phase to further reduce development abnormals.
With our extensive in-house experience of both in-situ and ex-situ treatment technologies our remedial strategy designs are practical and provide the most cost effective solutions, whilst still being robust enough to secure regulatory approval.
This means coupled with our demolition, waste management and enabling works capabilities we can be flexible in our approach, thereby ensuring that we utilise the most appropriate technologies to provide our clients a bespoke solution for individual sites.
We utilise 3D ground and contamination modelling to enhance material management plans and optimise on-site earthworks management.
In accordance with our clients requirements we deliver the majority of our works through all-risk design and build contracts acting as Principal Contractor for demolition, remediation and site re-engineering works.
Our turnkey solutions provide both environmental and geotechnical verification of earthworks to development platform level, delivered with 3D GPS technology to ensure safe working and quality assurance.
With remediation focused site and contract management we ensure timely validation of works and maintenance of good relationships with all project stakeholders.
